Room and Board Retail

The Skokie Room & Board store was the original retail location and was designed for renovation in 2018. Partnering with Perkins & Will, we developed a densely planted, naturalistic garden that celebrates the horticultural identity of Chicago, the “City in a Garden,” or Urbs in Horto. Flowing masses of perennials create excitement and seasonal dramas that break up the flurry of Skokie Blvd and provide a calming entry to the store.
